How do I log in? Where is my security code?

There are two ways to log in. The first, and easiest way is to click the link in the invitation email sent to you by an affiliate (e.g. newspaper, League of Women Voters, AARP). This link includes both the URL and the security code for your profile page. Clicking it will bring you right to your profile. The second way to is visit ethepeople.org, mouse over (roll your mouse over) Login/Help, and click Candidate Login. Click the link for the organization that invited you, then enter your security code. If you are missing your security code, click this link; you must include in your help request email:

  1. the specific reason for your request, (I need my security code);
  2. the name of the organization affiliated with the guide;
  3. the city and state for the guide.

Can I use any browser?

Our system supports Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. It also supports the latest two versions of Internet Explorer. If you are using Internet Explorer, make sure you are using the latest version. The version can usually be found by clicking About Internet Explorer or Help in the program. To identify the latest version of Internet Explorer, do a Google search for latest version, Internet Explorer.

How can I participate in the guide?

To participate, you must receive an email or mailed invitation that includes either a link, or the URL and your personal security code. Please note that e.thepeople does not manage the guide content; we can only forward your request to the appropriate guide administrator; they will contact you directly. To request an invitation, click this link; you must include in your help request email:

  1. the specific reason for your request, (Invitation to participate);
  2. the name of the organization affiliated with the guide;
  3. the city and state for the guide.

How can I update my name/email/other information? I’d prefer to use another email address.

While e.thePeople provides the technology, we do not manage the guide content. The guide administrator manages all content changes. The invitation sent to you provides a contact in the event of questions; this is the appropriate contact for data update requests. If you do not have the guide admin contact info, click this link. You must include in your help request email:

  1. the specific reason for your request, (Update my information);
  2. the name of the organization affiliated with the guide;
  3. city and state for the guide.

Can I type my answers in Word and copy and paste them?

Yes, you can cut and paste from Word. We strongly suggest that you prepare your answers in Word or some other software and save them on your computer before entering them into the voter guide, and save your submission frequently.

Can I save my answers and finish later?

Yes, you can save an edit until you click Submit in most cases. League of Women Voters guides do permit unlimited editing and submissions. We strongly urge that you keep a copy of your answers saved on your computer.
